from the misconceptions to the truth!

Please excuse my grammatical mistakes!
First, I will tell you that I arrived on the 20th of May at 9:06 pm, 1 pm U.S Central Time.  Unfortunately, I came with many misconceptions that carried over to the first day or two.  However, after two days I have realized that it is never wise to make judgements of a place and its people before you even know them.  As a student of psychology I knew that, but, with many people telling me that Africa was dangerous I forgot about my cultural sensitiveness.  It was very moving to see father Stephen waiting for me at the airport with such a smile that i would not have imagined.  We got home around 1 am and still he and the other people that came to receive me Caro, Vero and Sami were very happy.  Everybody welcomed me with a smile and my misconceptions changed.  I want to take advantage this time to thank Father Jayme for all his unconditional support in this mission project.  I would not be here if it had not been for Father Jayme Mathias, I want to thank him for his outstanding and life giving support, not only to me but to the Cristo Rey Catholic Church and to the Church in general.  I want to thank him in the name of Juventud Misionera for letting us use the facilities for all our meetings and the church for adoration on Thursdays.  We have grown so much as a parish and as individuals thanks to Father Jayme that has given his life for the well being of others.  I want to extend my thanks to Sister Gloria who has unconditionally given her support to me in this mission.  I have no words to thank Sister Gloria and Father Jayme for their support to me.  I am certain that they will have their prize in heaven!  I thank everybody for their prayers and support.  Have the certainty that you are in mine.

With much love from Kenya,
Lorenzo Cano
